I frequently use the image of a heart on fire in my art. I even have that image on my business card. I refer to it as my "Passion Logo."
Now, I realize that flaming hearts appear in lots of imagery, especially religious art, as the Sacre Coeur or Sacred Heart.
When I use it, this image has nothing to do with religion. For me, it's a symbol of my passion: my passion for life, my passion for my wife, my passion for art, and so on.
This personal symbol means so much to me, that it was my first tattoo. I had it done at a shop in New Orleans on Frenchman Street called Electric Lady Land. It's on my upper right arm.
When I use this symbol in my art, it should simply be translated as "passion."
