Beads, basswood, paint, old clock
This started out as a small, broken
mantel clock.
I took out the guts and put black velvet on the back wall.
The opening can't be much bigger than
an old-time silver dollar.
I carved the heart from basswood
and cut the flames out of a plastic
notebook cover.
I couldn't come up with a name
until it occurred to me that the little
passion heart looked like a jewel in a box.
