"Window Dressing"
Rearview mirror and beads
If you live on the Gulf Coast,
you have to have some Mardi Gras beads
hanging from your rearview mirror.
I'm pretty sure it's a law.
I wanted to recreate this tradition for the
New Orleans visitors, so I went
to my local junkyard and gathered some rearview mirrors.
I figured out a way to attach the mirror to a board,
then I carefully selected, hung and glued beads to the mirror.
I don't often repeat pieces, but I was able to make a half
dozen or so of these.
One lady from Baltimore said she hung hers up in her
office at work and that people always ask her about it.
